In addition to what others have posted (of which I agree) here's a rule thumb when selecting a palette: 60-30-10. 60% would be your prominant color, 30% your accent color and 10% your trim color. This would apply to both the interior or exterior.
To save time and money and to provide continuity within your space, you could paint all spaces in the same palette, use all the same brushes and rollers (if done in a timely manner) and buy 5 gallon bucket(s). That way you're not changing out or cleaning rollers to change to the next color for another room and incurring additional expense and time.
Hopefully you can stage each room with diversity in color to compliment your paint color choices.
Trust your local paint supplier to have the most current color selection and don't hesitate to ask their guidance in selecting your neutral color pallette. There are some beautiful ones out there! Neutral doesn't have to be blah....
You're on the right track! Best of luck to you.... more
Your best bet is to use a neutral color. Shades of tan mixed with white accent color are popular these day. Avoid dark or bright color paints they distract the buyer and make the rooms appear smaller..
Go to your local paint center at the home centers like Home Depot, Lowes, Orchard and ask questions..Let them know that you are selling your home and they should be also able to guide you make the right choices..... more
I love real wood but not in the Las Vegas area because it's too dry and it will eventually bow or crack. I have friends that have used wood and put humidifiers in their houses and the wood still cracked. Tile is the only way to go. Carpet isn't good in a dry dusty climate too but will work.... more
First of all you will need an architect to design whatever it is you are doing, and then you will need to get a permit. Then you can get bids from contractors. At the end of the day, I imagine concrete will be harder & more expensive as well.
Good luck to you, Jirius Isaac... more

It's about 62yrs outdated. Don't do parquet in any form & if you can afford it, stay away from the laminates too. If I'm walking in heels I can tell right away when it's a laminate floor or a thicker, better hardwood. On laminate, if you must do it, don't install any upstairs, it's very very loud when you walk on it especially in heels. I feel as though I could do a Shirley Temple tap routine when walking on laminate flooring.
Shoot me an email if you want to talk about this some more. I don't look back on this same Trulia thread for answers posted after mine.

I agree. When listing a home, it's my obligation to the seller to advise what they should do, for the least amount of money, to get their home ready to be put on the market.

Your best best is to check some of the national home staging directories such as HSR or RESA. Look for stagers in your area and call to verify that they have insurance and ask to see their portfolio. Ask if the photos on their website are stock photos or photos of properties they've staged. Staging costs vary but a staging consultation in the DC area runs around $200 and can give a homeowner direction for cost-effective changes before selling their home. Vacant staging costs are more expensive but very often recouped when the home is sold.... more
Presently, we could do this job for as little as $50,000; barring any complications with regards to the heating or plumbing-in other words, simple tie ins. This also assuming you have the proper setbacks for an addition this size. Additionally, we're talking four standard windows, (hurricane rated windows cost about 3 x as much) a single door, simple asphalt roofing and composite tile, or comparable flooring. Keep in mind, that this does not include the cost of plans, engineering, electrical upgrades, which may be required or furnace, boiler or septic upgrades. These could potentially add between $5000-$20,000. We are a Wareham based building and remodeling company and I offer this answer based on an actual addition we are doing in the nearby town of Middleboro and one we did recently in Plymouth. Of course, if this is to be a kitchen or bathroom they could add substantially to the cost.... more
Hi Wajiha,
Oggi's answer is partially correct. If your home is currently listed for sale on Trulia, your listing agent or broker can edit the home facts here on Trulia. If however your home is shown on Trulia but is not listed for sale, you can claim the home and edit the home facts. The information you provide about the home will then be shown under the heading 'Owner Information'.

Hello there,
If you are interested in modern furniture are affordable prices, here are some of my pics:
Funky Furniture:

These are pretty good copies of designer furniture, very decent quality and price.

West Elm ( WE):

Their store is located in Emeryville, very close to SF. Their taste used to be more ethnic/rustic, but I am surprised of how they've turned around their design image lately. They have a more modern/organic vibe, a very nice look and lots of selections.
Good luck!

IKEA vs. California Closets. If you can do it yourself, believe it, because I experienced this myself, the end product was worth it & saved me a couple of thousand dollars. In my opinion, as an Interior Designer I would recommend IKEA for closets and casegoods, but as a durable furniture product to sit, like sofas, no.... more
