"Where do I begin. WOW. My partner and I, we both now live in Los Angeles,decided to renovate and sell a rental property we had in Bernal Heights. We interview a couple of realtors to see who we felt could best assist us as it was going to be more than just "selling the house" We needed someone to be our eyes and ears with the contractor we had chosen.We met with Julie and Shane and immediately we knew we had found our match. "The entire team at Domicile (Patty, Julie, Shane and Bobby) has been the most fantastic group of real estate brokers my wife and I have ever worked with. We relocated from Boston to San Francisco, and the prospect of buying and remodeling in San Francisco (not to mention coordinating everything with the sale of our Boston condo) was daunting. We could never have made it happen without the help of everyone at Domicile.We knew right away from our initial meeting with Patty that we had found the right broker for us. We were not first-time home-buyers, but knew nothing about the San Francisco market. Patty familiarized us with the market, helped us understand what was realistic in light of our budget, and didn't seem the slightest bit fazed that we were trying to orchestrate the home-buying process while still living in Boston. We were in constant contact about our likes and dislikes, status of our Boston sale, mortgage referral (which Domicile helped set up), and expected move dates. "We got a dream house that we can afford and it's absolutely thanks to the great team of Patty, Julie and Shane at Domicile.We had a strict deadline to finding a house and we didn't think we can make it, after working with 3 different agents for a year. Domicile delivered! The full story is that we reached out to Domicile properties when we basically gave up on real estate agents. After having worked with a few different agents in SF, we already reached the point where we didn't trust a real estate agent to add any value to the process. Patty, Julie and Shane gained our trust with their professional approach, efficiency, experience, knowledge of the market, and their great human relationships. They know the business and work hard for you (and not just send you on tours!). Equally important in San Francisco's crazy market - other real estate agents like doing business with Domicile because they get it done, they are fair and honest. "We just closed on our first house yesterday and I wanted to say what a great experience we had working with Patty, Julie, and Shane. We knew from our research that buying a house in SF is still pretty competitive and we wanted an agent who was patient enough to give us the guidance we needed as first time home buyers but was also savvy enough to give us an edge in a competitive market. Domicile was very helpful in providing guidance and answering questions and we never felt pressured to act. Once we did find a house we wanted to place an offer on they provided a clear explanation of the process and were prompt in delivering our offer (the seller had a deadline for receiving offers). When our offer was accepted Domicile set up the inspections (both the general home and pest/structural inspectors were very thorough and provided clear explanations of their findings). Since this was an older house they recommended having a sewer line inspection which showed that there was root intrusion - we never would have know about this until it completely backed up.In general we felt that everyone at Domicile was very knowledgeable and helpful. They were responsive, provided great advice, and we really felt that they genuinely were interested in helping get the best house for us. Also I appreciate that they were pretty honest and told us what they thought (ultimately it was up to make the decisions as it should be). Once we found the house things went very fast so it was reassuring to have someone who could tell us what to expect and to answer any questions in real time.We were able to find our house very quickly and I think part of this was that we had a very clear idea of what we were looking for (location, size of house/# of rooms, style, etc.) given our budget. Domicile can be a great help in finding the right house but you need to have a clear and realistic understanding of what you want given your budget. If you are not sure then Domicile can help refine this (especially with the "realistic" part). Once you have that worked out Domicile can make the rest of the process much easier.
