Existing-home sales continued on an up trend in December, rising for three consecutive months and remaining above a year ago, according to the National Association of Realtors. The latest report shows a rise in existing home sales nationally by 5% from November sales and are up 3.6% from December 2010. Sales in the North East were up 10.7% from November sales and are up 3.3% from December 2010. These estimates are based on completed sales from MLS and include single-family homes, town homes, condominiums and co-ops.
With a positive increase for 3 straight months in a row, the recovery may indeed be on it's way.
